Things a Boss Chick/Momprenuer Should Never Forget
Letter to: Boss Chicks, Moms, Wives, Entrepreneurs, Full-time workers, etc. etc. etc….
You rip and run, taking kids to soccer games, weekly trips to the grocery store, changing diapers, bath time, cooking dinner, and helping kids with homework because you strive to be an awesome mom. Then in addition to that you have a full time job, your own homework if you are in school, and you still have to find the time to spend quality time with the children and hubby. Oh and let's not forget that you are also an entrepreneur so everything that comes with that is also time consuming.
You are a grinder, a go getter and the type of outstanding woman that against all odds and situations you are going to GETS THINGS DONE! You are going to go after your goals ferociously until you achieve them. That is awesome! But ponder this. How successful can you be when your body refuses to serve you? If you don't make time for health and self, you’ll have to make time for illness. Trust me I’m only speaking from experience.
I have 3 kids, a husband and 2 dogs. I am a part time student, with a full time job and I’m an entrepreneur. Last year I was so motivated and ready for 2016. In December I was grinding super hard. I decided that 2016 was going to be the year that my business was going to pop off and soon I could ditch that full time job and work for myself. So as I
mentioned I have 3 kids and a husband, and keeping the household in tact and dealing with everyone else's personalities and making sure they had what was needed was STRESSFUL! Working my full time job and trying to get overtime because I needed the money to fund my personal business was STRESSFUL! The only time I could squeeze in to work on my personal business was once the kids went to sleep, which meant that sometimes I would work through the night, with little to no sleep, and that was…yes you guessed it, STRESSFUL!
I didn’t realize that it was stressful and taxing at the time. All I knew was that I was working towards a better future for myself and my family, and that eventually I would work for myself, set my own hours, take trips to any beach in the world when I got darn good and ready. Some of you are reading this thinking ‘sure what's wrong with all this?’ Absolutely nothing; except for the fact that I was not balancing life properly because I didn’t add my physical or mental health into the equation. Once 2016 hit, I was BURNED OUT!!! I mentally clocked out and my body started to shut down on me. I lost motivation and needless to say the whole year zipped by me because I just simply couldn't get a grip on life. My body suffered and my business suffered as well.
My point is don’t forget about YOU! Don't forget to take time out for yourself! Don’t forget to press the reset button! Don't forget to stop and take a breather! Don’t forget that without balance there will be chaos! Don’t forget to believe in something higher than yourself so that you have someone to call on when the motivation and self love has been depleted! Don’t forget to drink lots of water and daggonit GET SOME REST! We spend so much time loving and taking care of others, DON’T FORGET TO LOVE AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
To be continued….
